The Book Nook was dreamt up by Alison Kozlow, a lifelong reader and mom of two with a deep belief in early literacy—and in the magic that happens when a child finds the book. After years in a career helping adults learn and grow, opening a children’s bookshop felt like the best next chapter: a way to bring her love of learning, her passion for books, and her commitment to community into one joyful, welcoming place.

Nestled in Hinsdale, The Book Nook is designed to be a happy place for families to raise readers—through thoughtfully curated books for ages 0–14, warm guidance, and experiences that bring stories to life.
